WELL THE SEASON HAS GOT OFF TO A VERY SLOW START BECAUSE OF THE MISERABLE APRIL WEATHER AND WHILST THE RESERVOIRS REMAINED FISHABLE THE RIVERS CERTAINLY WEREN’T. I’M GLAD TO REPORT THAT IN THE LAST WEEK THINGS HAVE IMPROVED AND RIVER LEVELS HAVE DROPPED TO A FISHABLE HEIGHT AND WE’VE HAD SOME GOOD RETURNS ON BOTH NYMPHS AND DRIES! ON RESERVOIRS BOTH BLOBS AND BOOBIES HAVE BEEN WORKING SO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF OUR SALE WHILST STOCKS LAST…….
DERBYSHIRE FLIES…
…is owned and run by Jonathan Park. I do not claim to be an expert angler or guide but I am a keen fly fisherman who knows what the average club member wants, and having been in retail much of my life I know the value and importance of quality and customer service. I aim to supply flies that are well designed and well tied which will not unravel at the sight of the first hungry fish.
The selection is inevitably influenced by my experiences on the local Derbyshire rivers and reservoirs and I am not trying to offer every known pattern in every possible size, but hope that my choice contains something of interest to all anglers (and more importantly to the fish!) from traditional river fly patterns to the more colourful reservoir blobs and boobies. As time goes and I restock all my river flies will become barbless.
I aim to have orders in the first class post within hours, and certainly any orders received before 1pm will be in the post that evening.
Some flies will come and go depending on their success and popularity so feedback is always welcome.
